Using M-PESA to repay the HELB Loan, enter HELB business number as 200800 and your National ID Number as your account number. Other HELB loan repayment methods include; Equity bank ATM’s and Pesapoint, using your national ID number for the account reference number.

  1. On M-Pesa menu, select Pay Bill.
  2. Enter HELB business number as 200800.
  3. Enter your National ID Number as your account number.
  4. Enter amount you intend to pay.
  5. Enter M-Pesa PIN.
  6. Double-check the details you entered, if correct click Send.
  7. A M-Pesa transaction confirmation SMS will be sent to you shortly after.

HELB Paybill Number – Using Airtel Money Transfer:

On the Airtel Money menu:

  1. Select Make payments
  2. Select Pay bill
  3. Select Other
  4. Enter business name  as HELB
  5. Enter Amount – e.g. 3000
  6. Enter your secret Pin number
  7. Confirm the transaction
  8. In the reference section, enter your National ID Number
  9. You will instantly receive a confirmation via SMS from Airtel Money

HELB Paybill Number – Using Equity Bank ATM:

On the ATM menu:

  1. Insert ATM card
  2. Key in your secret PIN number
  3. Go to ‘Pay bills’
  4. Select ‘HELB
  5. Enter National ID number when prompted
  6. Enter amount
  7. You will get a slip indicating the ID and amount entered.

On the ATM menu:

  1.  Insert ATM card in the card slot o Remove ATM card from the slot o Select language
  2.  Key in your secret PIN number
  3. Select “Pay Bill” button to proceed to the next screen
  4.  Key in the code shown for HELB option as 5006
  5.  Key in your HELB account number as your  National ID number and confirm
  6.  Key in your mobile no. (this will allow HELB to contact you if required)
  7. Key in the product you wish to pay for (undergraduate or postgraduate)
  8. Enter the amount you wish to pay for your loan
  9. The ATM will give you a receipt acknowledging payment for your HELB loan once the transaction is successfully completed.
