A 40-year-old mother is set to wed her own child. The lady and her child claim to be enamored with each other. What’s more, now they need to take their relationship to the next level and get hitched thinking about that the mother, Betty Mbereko (from Mwenezi in Masvingo) is currently a half year pregnant and expecting her child’s tyke and her great kid.
Mbereko, 40, has been a widow for as long as 12 years and has been living with her 23-years of age child Farai Mbereko.
She affirms that she is half year pregnant and that she has chosen it is smarter to “wed” her child since she wouldn’t like to wed her late spouse’s young siblings, whom she says are pining for her.
Betty staggered a town court a week ago when she said the issue with her child had started three years sooner.
She said subsequent to spending a great deal of cash sending Farai to class following the passing of her better half, she believed she had a privilege to his cash and no other lady was qualified for it.
“See, I endeavored alone to send my child to class and nobody helped me. Presently you see that my child is working and you blame me for accomplishing something incorrectly.
“Give me a chance to appreciate the results of my perspiration,” she told the town court board.
Farai said he was more than arranged to wed his mom and would square away the ilobola adjust his dad had left unpaid to his grandparents.
“I know my dad kicked the bucket before he wrapped up the lady cost and I am set up to pay it off,” he said. “It is smarter to promote what is going on in light of the fact that individuals should realize that I am the person who made my mom pregnant.
Else they will blame her for wantonness.” But nearby headman Nathan Muputirwa says: “We can’t enable this to occur in our town, mashura chaiwo aya, (This is a terrible sign without a doubt). In the past they would need to be killed yet today we can’t do it since we fear the police.”
He cautioned them to promptly sever their marriage or leave his town. They picked the last mentioned and have since left the town for an undisclosed goal
